Record Results for Toolbank’s 2011 Xmas Campaign

We were thrilled to hear that our client Toolbank has experienced its highest ever sales levels from a Christmas promotion, thanks to the ‘Real Deal’ Campaign which we developed for them last year.

We have worked on this significant campaign for 11 years, initially pitching against a number of other agencies for the first seven years and only losing twice. But we have been lucky enough to work on the project consecutively now for the past four years and our relationship with Toolbank has gone from strength the strength, as has the campaign.

It was great to see that we were still able to come up with something new and exciting for 2011, which would make their retailers enthusiastic about selling Toolbank products and taking part in the Xmas promotion. Final figures showed that the total sales value increased by 20% on 2010, with 15% more orders overall and 34% more pallets of stock being dispatched.

Over 3,000 pallets were sent out as part of the promotion with just under 2,000 customer orders in total, made up of nearly three quarters of a million products - a seriously good result we thought. In fact we’re told that the picking team, which did such an excellent job of getting all the orders ready to send out, walked over 200 miles around the warehouse!

Shine client achieves finals of CIM Marketing Excellence Awards

We were very excited to find out this week that our client Ellenborough Park has been shortlisted for the finals of the 2011 Marketing Awards in the Hotels / Leisure and Travel category.

The winner will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 23rd February 2012, where Ellenborough Park will be competing against Premier Inn, Virgin Atlantic and VisitScotland - and our work will be up against leading agencies such as Dare and WWAV RAPP Collins!

Shine has worked closely with Ellenborough Park, and with its PR and web agencies, both pre and post opening - and we are a key part of the hotel's marketing team. We were also heavily involved in the award submission, which makes us even more delighted that they have been shortlisted!

The Marketing Excellence Awards are run by the Chartered Institute of Marketing and have been designed to recognise organisations and individuals that have contributed to the marketing profession. The CIM congratulated all of the finalists, adding, "Finalists for this year's Awards exemplify marketing excellence across the public and private sector. This year we have seen an incredibly high standard of entries for all industry and individual categories. Our esteemed panel of judges were highly impressed by the calibre of the entries - this sets great foundations for the growth of the marketing industry."

Shine client 'Overall Brand Winner' at British Sausage Week

We're pleased to announce that our client, Hampshire butcher A Turner & Sons, was recently announced as 'Overall Brand Winner' for their Best of British Sausage at British Sausage Week.

We've been working with A Turner & Sons for the last couple of years, initially to develop their corporate identity and then their new sausage packaging - including two varieties which feature real ale from the Hogs Back Brewery, and of course the award-winning Best of Britsh variety. The competition received hundreds of entries and A Turner & Sons won the 'brands' heat to receive their much deserved Golden Sausage Disc and a place in the British Sausage Week Hall of Fame. The award was presented by Slade frontman and true British legend, Noddy Holder - who has been touring the country to uncover 'that little bit of sparkle' that makes for a really special sausage.

Commenting on A Turner & Sons' winning sausage, Noddy said, “The standard of entries was incredibly high, with many sausages worthy of the title of legendary. However A Turners the Best of British Sausage stood out as something genuinely different. They very much deserve their prize and place in the British Sausage Week Hall of Fame.”

Paul Turner of A Turner & Sons added, “We are so pleased to win. You always hope to win when you enter a competition, but for our entry to be crowned North East Legendary Banger is just fantastic. It was great to meet Noddy and get our very own Gold Disc!”

We'd like to add our own congratulations to Turners, and it's good to know that their packaging looks every bit as good as the sausages taste!

Shine client wins two prestigious travel industry awards

We were delighted to hear that our client Ellenborough Park, Cheltenham's luxury hotel and spa, has won 'UK Leading Country House Hotel' and the 'UK's Leading Spa' at the presigious World Travel Awards 2011.

The hotel, which officially opened in May this year following a three year multi-million pound restoration, beat several of the UK's established hotels to the top prize, including Calcot Manor in Gloucestershire, Babington House in Somerset, and Chewton Glen in Hampshire. The awards were presented at a Gala Ceremony in Antalya, Turkey in early September.

The World Travel Awards was labelled by The Wall Street Journal as the 'Oscars' of the travel and tourism industry. In its 17th consecutive year, the awards are voted for by hundreds of thousands of industry professionals. Commenting on the awards, Ellenborough Park's General Manager Graham Vass said, "Winning two awards is an incredible testimony to the quality of our team, the vision of the architects and owners of Ellenborough Park. We are honoured to receive such recognition from our peers around the globe. These accolades will make us even more determined to continue to provide a high level of service and remain as Gloucestershire's first choice luxury hotel and spa."
